Hulduheimur er munsturlína sem er innblásin af verkum Guðjóns Samúelssonar húsameistara, en eftir hann standa margar af þekktustu og fegurstu byggingum landsins. Má þar helst nefna Þjóðleikhúsið, Hallgrímskirkju, Akureyrarkirkju, Héraðsskólann á Laugarvatni og Laugarneskirkju. Byggingar Guðjóns eru stílhreinar, reisulegar og formfastar. Ég tengi þær við munsturgerð og eigin dálæti á reglu og skipulagi. Form sem speglast og eru endurtekin, línur sem teygja sig áfram, brotna og mætast. Allt þetta myndar fallega heild án þess þó að vera fyrirsjáanlegt. Í steinsteypunni sé ég skýra tengingu við náttúruna; fjöllin, bergið og víðáttuna. Líkt og Guðjón sé ég í þeim dásamlega og stórbrotna fegurð, ég sé í þeim híbýli huldufólks. 

Hulduheimur samanstendur af sex munstrum í tveimur litapalettum, Bergtóna og Litadýrð. Munstrin eru upphaflega hönnuð fyrir textíl en henta einnig fyrir önnur yfirborð eins og t.d. veggfóður, gólfmottur eða ýmsann vefnað. Hingað til hafa munstrin verið stafrænt prentuð á bómull og kynnt í formi metravöru og púða. Þá hafa fjögur munstranna verið prentuð á gjafapappír. Í vinnslu er sú hugmynd að stækka vörulínuna með því að bæta við rúmfatnaði.

Hulduheimur, or Hidden World, is a collection of patterns inspired by the works of Iceland´s state architect Guðjón Samúelsson, but he created some of the country´s most famous and magnificent buildings. To name a few he created the National Theatre, Hallgrímskirkja church, church of Akureyri, Héraðsskólinn á Laugarvatni and church of Laugarnes. Guðjón´s buildings are in precise style, stately and formal. I connect them with patternmaking and my own passion for order and organization. Shapes that are mirrored and repeated, lines that stretch on, brake and connect. All this forms a beautiful whole without being predictable. In the concrete I can picture a clear connection to the nature; the mountains, rocks and vastness. Like Guðjón I see in them wonderful and magnificent beauty, I see in them the home of the hidden people.*

Hulduheimur consists of six patterns in two color paletts, Muted Colors of Grey and Splendor of Colors. Although designed for textile, the patterns are suitable for other surfaces such as wall paper, rugs or weaving. So far the patterns have been digitally printed on cotton twill and promoted as fabric and decorative pillows. Four of the patterns have also been printed on gift wrapping paper. Under evaluation is the possibility of expanding the product range by adding bedding sets (duvet- and pillow covers).

*The Hidden People (Icelandic: Huldufólk. Huldu– refers to secrecy and fólk means „people“, „folk“) are believed to live in the rocks and mountains of Iceland where Guðjón sought his inspiration.
